Biore Powder Sheets

Biore さらさらパウダーシート (Sarasara Powder Sheet)

As promised, here is something I'd like to talk about today: another Biore product (<-website here, Japanese only). As many of you know, summers in Japan can be miserable. We are just over halfway done with summer, and the temperatures have dropped a bit, but it is still humid and nasty out there. Nothing is worse than feeling like a cesspool of sweat after walking ten minutes to the station. I saw these products everywhere last summer, but never actually tried them. This spring, when they first started coming out, I went on my school trip to Kamakura. One of the teachers offered me a sheet after two hours of trekking around from temple to temple. The type she gave me is actually a slightly different one than pictured above (Biore UV Cut with 20 SPF - gold packaging). Regardless, they have the same effect: a cooling feel and when dry feels like fresh baby powder on your skin. You really do feel "さらさら" (sara-sara roughly translates to silky/smooth)!

Ever since then, I have been using them during the summer. Each pack comes with 10 sheets. You can purchase four different scents at the convenient stores: fresh soap (pink), fresh citrus (green), aquatic rose (blue), and aromatic orange (orange) for ¥284 (Seven Eleven price). If you want to try out the other types, like the UV cut one, I have only seen them in the drugstores. There are also men's type sold by Gatsby that I see at the convenient stores as well (I'm sure there are plenty of brands out there though). I just love the fresh, clean feel I have after using them. Granted, it's not the equivalent of taking a shower, but when you can't go home for hours in humid weather, it really helps.

That's all for now! I recently started using online banking here and am thinking of making an English guide for the JP Bank one, so keep your eyes out for it. Until next time.

  1. OMG thank you! I have been dying with the humidity since I tend to sweat a bit more, especially on my face :/ I use a towel which helps a lot but after I wipe my face, sweat again T__T I will definitely try this!

    1. Glad to be of assistance. I also sweat a lot (my boyfriend is always shocked when I have started sweating lol). These won't stop you from sweating, but they feel soooo nice.

  2. Today was my 2nd day in Japan and I was sweating like hell.
First I only stared at this refreshing sheets in the 7-11, because I think they are slight expensive. But this evening I bought some, but from a different brand (I got one of the AG+ ones). I didn't use them yet, so I can't say anything about the feeling. But with 198Yen for 20pieces they got me XD The ones from Bioré are also a bit cheaper at a normal drugstore. :)

    1. Hey thanks for the comment! Yeah I saw them for ¥204 at the drugstore yesterday but didn't need anymore. In my opinion, they are worth the price. Let me know how the ones you got worked out. You will be sweating a lot until mid-end of September. Enjoy your time in Japan!!
