Soranbushi

So today will be the first Soranbushi practice for the Fall semester. Woo! Time for some crazy sore legs haha. For those who don't know me personally, I have been performing Soranbushi for four years now, and currently teach it to our group at school. This will be my last semester. O.O Oh nooo!!

For those who don't know what Soranbushi is, it is a traditional, Northern, Japanese dance. There are modernized versions of it, but our group performs the old-style kind. I personally think this version of the dance looks way better than modern ones. The theme of the song and dance is the fishermen working.

We will be performing at an Aki Matsuri at a different university in November, which is really nice for me. Usually, we perform it in the Spring at our Sakura Festival. If we weren't invited to perform at this fall one, then I would not have been able to participate in the Spring (since I'm graduating in December). I'm really excited that I get to perform one more time before I leave school and hopefully the States.
